Our goals include:
Supporting research in vernacular science and appropriate technology: the practical knowledge and means available to normal individuals without special training or tools.
Providing a test ground for experimentation in the novel applications for readily available materials, technologies, and skills, through the construction and maintenance of shared public spaces and resources.
Publicizing and promoting the knowledge gained from these efforts so that they can benefit the general public and increasing public awareness of alternative means for satisfying basic human desires that are cheaper, more sustainable, more enjoyable, and more consonant with human nature.
